Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is the chemical composed only of water and oxygen and it has the ability to kill disease organism by oxidation. This is the reason why hydrogen peroxide is considered the world’s safest and all natural sanitizer.

The solution of hydrogen peroxide is very powerful for killing viruses, bacteria, fungi and all kinds of germs. At home, you can use it for all kinds of things. Here are some of them:

1. For your Teeth

You can use hydrogen peroxide to brush your teeth. You can make toothpaste by mixing baking soda and 3% H2O2. However, you can also just dip your toothbrush in 3% H2O2 and brush your teeth. That will keep your toothbrush clean and safe from germs and it will whiten your teeth.

Moreover, hydrogen peroxide can help you with your toothache. It does not kill the pain, but it destroys the infection that causes the pain due to its antibacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. Just put 3% H2O2 in your mouth and hold it for 10 seconds every day.

2. Hydrogen Peroxide Bath

When you want to relax with a nice bath, add a liter of 3% H2O2 and enjoy your bathtub for at least half an hour. It will detoxify your body and get rid of toxins and dead skin cells.

H2O2 will also help you with the peeling skin on your feet and the bad odor. Just mix water and hydrogen peroxide in a 50:50 ration and soak your feet before you go to bed. Wipe them and keep them dry to prevent additional fungal infection.

3. For Disinfection

Medical practitioners usually use 3% solution of H2O2 to clean open wounds and disinfect from bacteria. Do not be afraid of the foam it forms when it gets to the wound.

That is because of the enzyme catalasa which is released from damaged cells. If the foam appears on almost healed wounds again, it means there is a bacterial infection.

4. Hair Lightening

If you want lighter hair just make a solution of water and hydrogen peroxide in 50:50 ratio, and spray it on wet hair after you have taken a shower.

It will gradually lighten up your hair with every time you do it, and you will get light brown or dirty blond highlights.

5. Contact Lenses

Due to its ability to disinfect, you can use it as a solution for contact lenses. It breaks down the proteins that are built up on the lenses due to immune response of the body.

6. Remove Ear Wax

No matter how much you clean your ear canal, there will be cerumen accumulated over time. Hydrogen peroxide is the solution for this as well.

7. Laundry

You can use hydrogen peroxide for stains instead of bleach. If there is a blood or dirty stain on your clothes, add H2O2 directly on the spot, leave it stay for a minute and wash it with cold water.

However, bear in mind that it might discolor some fabrics, so it is safest to use it on white fabric. Also, if you use hydrogen peroxide instead of bleach, your clothes will last longer than when using bleach.

8. Cleaning Surfaces

You can either use it for your dishwasher or household surfaces. Clean your surfaces with hydrogen peroxide and it will destroy all the germs and leave a fresh smell.

Mix a 50:50 solution of water and hydrogen peroxide and you can spray it on all kinds of surface like glass, wood, kitchen, bathroom, floors etc. Moreover, if you mix H2O2 and vinegar it will disinfect any cooking and food preparation areas.

9. Clean your Vegetables

You can use hydrogen peroxide as a soak to destroy microorganisms. After you soak them, dry your vegetables and put them in the fridge.

They will stay fresh for a longer time. If you have some leftover salad, you can spray it with a mixture of half a cup of water and 1 tbsp 5% hydrogen peroxide to regain its freshness.

10. Sanitize your Meat

You can also use H2O2 for rinse off your meat before you cook it and you can make a marinade. To make marinade mix water and 3% H2O2 in a casserole, put the meat in it and leave it in covered in the refrigerator for half an hour. Take it out, wash it and it is ready for cooking.
